Dashdoc's integrated barcode scanning functionality gives you precise traceability of picked-up and delivered goods. You can thus avoid discussions between haulier, ordering party and the customer being supplied.

Enable tracking of shipping units on a transport?

When creating a transport, while adding goods, check the box "track shipping units by codes" and indicate the codes in the boxes that appear below.

Then, when scanning barcodes during loading and delivery, the driver will be notified if the codes do not match the expected codes.

You can choose to activate this option for certain goods in your transport only.

Display the scanned codes during the course of a transport?

Scanned codes are visible in the details of the goods picked up / delivered. In case of a scanning problem, a notification is displayed : "not scanned"

Scanning barcodes at pick-up and delivery with the mobile app?

Process your transport in Dashdoc as usual.

After validating your arrival on site, when scanning the goods, click on "Identify shipping units".

The screen then switches to "scan" mode and allows you to scan all the goods to be picked up / delivered at this address in one go.

The "flashlight" icon on the right allows you to turn on/off your phone's built-in light (for night use, for example).

When you have finished scanning all the items, click the "Finish" button.

This will take you to the usual step of confirming the details of the pick-up / delivery, and you can:

  • make reservations,

  • modify the goods (weight...), (it is not possible to modify the quantities once the scan is completed)

  • validate the goods

What if I have additional (unplanned) goods to pick up?

If additional goods are to be picked up, scan them. A notification will notify you that the code was not scheduled: click "Add anyway".

Specify if necessary to which goods the scanned code is linked.

The quantity of the goods will then be updated automatically (+1 unit).

What if I can't scan all the expected codes (goods missing, barcode unreadable...)

Click the "Skip" button at the bottom of the scan screen, then click "Finish".

You are then asked to indicate, for each unscanned code, whether the goods are "Not picked up / delivered" or "picked up / delivered but not scanned".

The quantity of the goods will then be updated automatically (-1 unit if the goods are not picked up / delivered).

To specify the reason in writing, you can use the reservations, as usual, in the next step.
