Geographic zones allow you to define and name your operational territories. They form the basis of the Routing Plan and the automation of your LTL flows.
Why use geographic zones?
Save time in planning: by naming your territories once, you avoid re-entering geographical criteria in your routing plan.
Lay the groundwork for automation: use the zones in your routing plan to define segmentation or assignment rules.

⚙️ Create a Zone
Access your Dashdoc account Settings.
Navigate to the Geographic Zones section.
Click on Add a Zone.
Give your zone a unique name (e.g., "West", "Illinois", "Brittany").
Add one or more geographic perimeters from the following criteria:
Country
Regions / States
Departments
Cities
Postal codes (ranges or individual codes)
Logistics points (warehouses, hubs)
Click on Save.
💡 Good to know: A single zone can combine multiple types of criteria. For example: departments 75, 92, and 77, plus postal codes 45000–45999 from a neighboring department.
⚙️ Manage your zones
Edit a zone: Changes apply only to new rules in the routing plan. Existing routes are not affected retroactively.
Delete a zone: If the zone is used in an active routing plan rule, Dashdoc displays a warning before confirming the deletion.
Search: The list of zones can be filtered by name or usage status.
⚠️ Access Rights: Only "Administrator" users can create, modify, or delete zones.
📥 Import Zones from Item Excellium
If you are migrating from an existing TMS, Dashdoc allows you to import your zones in bulk.
From the Geographic Zones section, click on Import.
Select your file in the Excel Item Excellium format.
Verify the zones created after the import.
ℹ️ If your file format is not recognized, Dashdoc will clearly inform you. Other formats (CSV, third-party TMS exports) may be supported depending on the case — contact support for more information.
🔜 Coming soon: Geographic zones are currently usable in the rules of the routing plan. Other uses are scheduled in upcoming versions: filter and group your orders by zone directly from the order pool, and use your zones as a criterion in your tariff grids.
