Handling Units

Dashdoc allows you to choose which packaging to select when creating transport.

To do this, go to Settings then the Handling Units menu.
You will find the standard handling units:

  • Other

  • Round Wood

  • Powder Tank

  • Package

  • Containers

  • Rental

  • Pallets

  • Bulk

  • Bulk IDTF

You can disable the handling units that are not useful to you by clicking on the 3 dots at the end of the line:

Create Your Handling Units

Click the Add a Handling Unit button, and fill in the required fields.

Your handling unit can be used both for a support swap and for the transport of goods.
If you select these two types of operations, your handling unit will be available both in Goods and in Support Swaps.

When you select the type of operation Transport of goods, you need to select a Reference Unit to choose which fields will be proposed for this packaging.

Finally, Dashdoc offers you the option to speed up your entry by allowing two calculation modes.

Manual:

Fill in the fields to add by default the quantity, weight, volume, or linear meters during transport creation.

This feature is useful for the following cases, for example:

  • the bulk transport of goods to set a default weight of 28 tons for each transport creation

  • the complete Pallet transport to have by default 33 pallets, 28 tons, and 13.4 loading meters

  • the Container transport to have the Quantity field pre-filled

Automatic:

Here fill in the weight, volume, or loading meter corresponding to 1 handling unit.
During transport creation, Dashdoc will automatically calculate these fields based on the recorded quantity.

These two methods allow you to save time during your entry 🚀

The Goods Catalog

In Settings, find the Goods menu.

You can create new Goods by clicking the Add Goods button.

Only the Name field is mandatory.
The Internal ID field can be used as a shortcut, for example:
Name: Pallets 80x120
Internal ID: 80x120
The Additional Information field will be automatically filled in during the transport based on what is added here.

From this page, you can mass delete goods or edit goods:

Web Platform

When you create a transport, you will find your handling units via a dropdown menu as well as your goods catalog.

You can create a handling unit from the creation form:

When adding goods, you can choose to add it to your catalog by checking the "Add goods to your catalog" box

From the Transport/Chartering pages, you can also filter by Handling unit or Goods:

Mobile application

When creating transport on the mobile application, the driver will find through a dropdown menu the handling units and the goods catalog created from the web platform.

If you have indicated an automatic calculation method for the fields dedicated to weight, volume, or length, the calculation will be done automatically.

If a driver does not find the goods in the dropdown menu, they will have the option to create one, and it will automatically be registered in the catalog.
