From the Reports menu, you can access the Profitability dashboard.
Dashdoc takes your turnover into account and deducts the costs you have entered.
Your turnover is calculated based solely on transport prices and not on invoiced turnover.
You can add your costs per vehicle, per trucker or for your entire fleet over a given period.
What changes when profitability is activated on my account
There are three impacts on the dashboards:
The period filter on all dashboards only allows filtering by full month periods, so that filters and results are consistent with the monthly profitability table.
The way in which turnover is recorded has changed: see details below.
The dashboard entitled "Transport/Chartering" has been removed. All key indicators are available in the other dashboards.
Calculation of Turnover:
When profitability is activated, turnover from transport orders is recorded on the day of the first activity on that order.
In the event of break in the execution of the order, the turnover is divided between each party, as decided by the user in the order details, and recorded on the day of the first activity for each part of the order.
This applies to the profitability report and all other reports based on revenue.
This ensures that revenue is always recorded only once, regardless of the filters used, and consistently across reports.
Example:
A transport order has a total invoiced price of €500, divided into two parts assigned to different vehicles and drivers:
vehicle 1 (and trucker 1) has a turnover of 200€
vehicle 2 (and trucker 2) has a turnover of 300€
vehicle 1 (and trucker 1) has a first loading date of 31 September and a break on 1 October.
vehicle 2 (and trucker 2) resumes on 5 October and unloads on 6 October.
The turnover for each vehicle will be recorded as follows:
200€ for vehicle 1 on 31 September
300€ for vehicle 2 on 4 October
👉 If you filter the table for the period of October, you will not see the turnover of 200€ for vehicle 1, even though the first part of the transport was completed on 1 October.
💡 By the end of 2025, it will be possible to choose in the account settings whether turnover is recorded on the date of the trucker's first activity or on the date of the trucker's last activity. This setting will apply to all orders, not on an order-by-order basis.
How to use the profitability module?
⚠ Only Dashdoc account administrators have access to the Cost Management Centre.
Add your costs
Click on the "Access cost management center" button.
From the cost management center, you will be able to add your costs.
You can record costs at different levels:
Per vehicle
Per driver
Across your entire fleet
You can choose to apply each cost to a single driver or vehicle, or distribute it across your full fleet.
Method 1: Manual entry of costs
Click on "Add a cost" button.
Then, enter a description, an amount, an effective date, or choose to spread this over several months:
Examples include:
Driver salaries
Vehicle tolls
Overhead costs (e.g., office expenses, admin)
Annual fleet insurance
Again, you can choose to apply the costs to a single driver or vehicle, or distribute it across your full fleet.
Method 2: Import Costs from Excel or CSV
You can also import cost data directly from an Excel or CSV file.
Click Import Costs.
Download our Excel or CSV template to make importing easier.
Fill in your data — or use your own formatted file — and upload it by dragging it into the upload box on the left.
Once imported, you can:
Adjust how costs are distributed (e.g., spread over a defined period)
Apply them to the entire fleet if needed
We can offer you an Excel or CSV template to facilitate your imports
You can fill in the template file with your data or use a clean file, then drop the file into the box on the left.
After the import, you can adjust your cost to spread it over a defined period instead of an effective date and apply it to the entire fleet:
